Flight of the Maori

FlightOfTheMaori

FlightOfTheMaori watercolor on paper 14 X 20

Wow, what a crazy trip that was and I thought I was in New Zealand with the Maori but then I found I was flying with a hummingbird in South Africa. What an amazing creature, the wings so delicate that you can see through them even and yet they move at such a speed that they almost transform into pure energy right in front of you. And I see how big and clumsy I have been and how I could easily have destroyed such a creature in the past without even knowing. But tonight we sailed across whole continents and even across the vast wasteland of the American west, past places like Provo Canyon and Canyon Manor and Children’s Farm Home and hundreds perhaps even thousands of places just like it where they use words like the therapeutic milieu and acute depression and suicide ideation. And we thought the Earth was in turmoil when Pele was in her youth spewing forth fire from her core. And yet what is the fire burning now so out of control, and consuming children like a mad god?

And the hummingbird moving so close to the speed of love sees that everything is love. And me, when I move that fast can see too and when I’m not I’m working through my fear.

Thank you Ariela!
Yes spirals, like spiraling out of control and what a blessing it is to, to find we are not in control. And like the Tsunami I told you about. Well it splashed all around me and yet not a drop landed on me, because I'm not finished yet.
And Mary Thank you!
for being here and for sharing with me about trust. Yes, it is about unconditional love and trust that we are that unconditional love.

HI Nikki and thank you love!
Wow, I think we must be stealing art from the same room in the great museum!
The forms in your painting “Birthing the Cosmos” are just so right! I feel like I have been there also. It's just beautiful!
I do think that I either need new glasses or you need to post a bigger photo.
OOoo my eyes hurt but my heart feels really good!

There is nothing the eye sees…

Hi Doug,

your work is very inspirational
flowing out of the source itself
creativity
that which spawns each and every living being
and all that issues forth from them as well
whether impeded or unimpeded

Art is such an amazing form of healing
expressing the deep lessons of life
I hope you continue on your healing journey as I have

When I think about my grandma
and how immensely she loved me
so immensely that it has set my entire life on a path of love
after she died
I came to the realization
that her love for me
grew out of her own pain and suffering
of the ones who were precious in her own life

She had 10 children and outlived each and every one of them
and from this immense pain
of mother outliving all her children
she came to love me
and all those around her
with amazing intensity

Her spontaneous love towards others
this expression of the wonder of life
the beauty and complete joy of life
was formed out of this suffering
it impregnated her every action with purpose and presence
this precious love for others
….it was her way of healing
as it is mine

Love is the journey of healing for all of us
and Art expresses this love so well

Hi Heather! And thank you, thank you!

So nice to see your dancing/flying self here on my page!

Hi Joanne! Thank you and here you are traveling sooo far, surely multiple router hops away to here, now.

Hummy! Such warming, comforting words you shared! Thank you again!

Hi Glen!

We hadn’t met, until now and I’m glad we have!

Thank you for all your kind and beautiful words. They ring truth and seem to be on the same frequency as a hummingbirds wings or a soul song gathering all into a single tone with a chorus of overtone.

Music is my muse
and harmony
that's what it's all about!

Dissonance too! A little dissonance
resolving in consonance and harmony

Life's suffering
may appear as dissonance
but when we have gone through it
embraced it
with the support of others
who've expeienced it

….then it can resolve into beautiful harmony again

Ultimately
life is the entire piece of music
both dissonant at times
and consonant at others
and to enjoy all of life
is like enjoy its entire composition
the lows rolling into highs
and the highs descending to lows

so enjoy the music of life!

Hi Doug,  A lot has already been said about this piece, so I will float and take a look at it, as I look into the sky.  The sky is an ever-changing constant.  This painting is the same.  Cool and very inspirational work.  Makes me want to go back to abstract after grinding away at photo-realism for the past few months.  Peace, Otter

Hi Doug!  Beautiful artwork!  I overheard a conversation and they were talking about the hummingbird's heart that it is the biggest in relation to it's body size.  I just didn't get which ones are they compared with having the 'biggest heart'.  Thank you!

Hi Samme!

Thank you and welcome back! So aside from seeds you were the conversation I overheard most. “Where's Samme, we're worried, he's not responding, we miss Samme”

You are so loved my friend by many people. But I wasn't worried because all those people are merely reflecting what the universe feels. So you are always in good hands or hummingbird wings.
