My son though a man now
Still loves Sesame Street and knows everything that Donald Duck ever said.
His DVD's are a mess or DDD's as he calls them
He kisses cars on the street and tells them
"Nice Mr. Car".
He pets snails in their shells gently waiting for them to emerge.
Oh there are days when he is on Mars
But mostly he is in Venus
He still loves
Amazing
The Doctors tell me he's damaged
That there's a fragile site on his cells
Were the brokenness began
But I say he's a gift
He's a healer of the broken inner child
He whispers without words
it's safe to love
It's safe to be loved
Take a chance, be yourself
Today I bought my children the world
And I put it in their room to ponder
Tomorrow we'll learn to own it
