"Some men know that a light touch of the tongue, running from a woman's toes to her ears, lingering in the softest way possible in various places in between, given often enough and sincerely enough, would add immeasurably to world peace." ~ Marianne Williamson, "A Woman's Worth"

If only it could be that simple again, as simple as cutting through the yards through my backyard to the deep woods and passing by the forsythia so sweet in it's yellow fragrance and you having just moved in swinging contently on your blue swing. I wanted to be your friend that day and I forgo my woods for your swing. Such fun we had leaning all the way back to watch the upside down world whirl about, and I swear my feet touched so gently the tender branches of a maple just awakening after the cold sleep. And so sad when the day ended and you returned to your lessons, the one's your mother taught you that it's family against the world and you must be right or nothing, defending that lonely island with pychological warfare that could be turned against you in an instant should you disagree with the lesson, reducing you to tears and nothingness. And me a gingerbread man, catch me if you can, for I can run fast and disappear in an instant should I sense the slightest danger.

That night was so long, us dreaming in our separate ways, me in my woods flying in the tree tops with a raven and you swinging contently on the blue swing with the world upside down.

I didn't see you at the bus stop this morning, maybe you have a note from home that you're sick today, but when you get better please come with me to my woods. We'll walk down the path passed the clearing, passed the lost lake into a golden field, and on the other side of the field there is a tree line where Mary's creek runs. There we will find a tree that has fallen over the creek to the other side and when I lean you against her smooth bark, may I kiss you for the first time?

Thank you Julia!
I think it's the light this time of year and how all life responds to the days that are starting to linger. It stirs up memories and feelings that are both old and new.

Thank you Sprite!
It is divine the way the sun touches and the way the earth rises to meet that touching. It makes me want to remove my shoes to feel what the earth feels.

I was home sick but I snuck outside to play in the backyard and afterschool my friends “the twins” B&N came over and we took turns pushing each other on the swing on my oak tree.
It was light, easy, full of laughter and oooh yeah I was happy swinging when it was my turn … I told them about you. They giggled and then we all PINKY SWORE not to tell!!!

So Peri that explains it!
When I was on my paper route today on my red bicycle there was a group of girls jumping rope and as I passed by they sang.
…sitting in a tree
K.I.S.S.I.N.G
I rounded the corner past your house and I saw you sitting in the window and you looked down just as the paper landed in the exact spot that I stood in last night when I was throwing pebbles at your window.

shhhh. I'm sorry I tole them. They're such blabber mouths! but they're my best friends!
I saw you throw the paper but my mom was at my doorway shouting for me to come to dinner and to help with my little brothers.

Maybe I'll see you tomorrow in the hallway at school … I'm going to wear my pink “John Lennon” hat to let you know (secret) I love you …the hat cuz one time you told me … you thought it was “cool”…

Love this one…what I see in the painting…and what I read in your writing–the beginning, the end and what's in between. It definitely gave me some delicious shivers (credit to Julia for this phrase)…

And I'm enjoying the Doug-Peri dialogue…(didn't mean to interrupt it)…and hope it continues!

Thanks Lisa! Love sharing those delicious shivers and swinging upside down and do you remember the tree fort?
Yes that one!
I'm afraid I didn't finish lunch so the lunch monitors wouldn't let me go out on the playground with Peri :-(
You think she'll be playing hopscotch down on Spring circle after school?

The tree fort? Yes, I'll never forget. I remember how sweet you were, helping me climb up there. It was fun hanging out…until the adults caught us…playing with matches and giggling…and we had to come down…. I wrote about it in my diary–you know, the kind with the special lock and key.

You know–Peri just passed me a note…she says she will be hopscotching on Spring circle. She said she'd be waiting for you….and she'll be wearing the hat.  :)

We all think the alchemist was looking for the philosophers stone but really he was looking for that special key to that special lock that unlocked the secret of how to swing in the blue swing in a rhythmic motion to the very tip-top of the maple tree touching ever so gently, so the motion continues right on through, down to the roots, out through all the branches and the whirly-birds of maple seed pods flood the sky in their flight , their dance into the warm wet earth.

yes, nightstar - I was hopscotchin' and dropped some messages for douglass … but not sure he'll understand what I'm tryin' t say  … oh my … I'm sometimes a bit “out of it” … can you help translate this stuff about the stone, the rock that I found. It had the most unusual markings and I found myself dreaming about it for the past 4 nights now.

Wow, the blue stone did have markings on it, a labyrinth. Now I have the shivers. In ancient Crete they build their castles over a labyrinth and the secret key to the secret lock is to be above the labyrinth. To enter through the green floor, the fourth chakra, the heart to understand and find the way through the mysteries below. The lapis is the third chakra, speech, to speak the magic words from the heart that open all seven levels of love. A rainbow snake slithers up through 6 layers of being and flies away a bird.

We are all now flying and following the bird…we enter the mist of its rainbow and nearly become part of it. We then fly effortlessly, the misty spirit carrying us. Our journey is long, but we don't know it or feel it…

We eventually arrive and enter the tower of a castle… There are ancient labyrinths painted on the lavender and black walls…and several stones, of different colors  in a circle on the floor. Each of us–me, Douglass and Peri–picks one up. As we do, our chakras become illuminated…with the energy moving upward and then down again while vibrating in each of the stones. We look out the window and see a medieval labyrinth, with white stones forming an inviting path. In the distance, we hear a sound, a melodic vibration…

Do we walk the labyrinth….or shall we call the snake bird to take us there to the sound?

Go home? I hope not, we are having so much fun and I don't have a watch anymore. The one my granny gave me for my birthday I left in my pants and they got washed, (taking marbles, springs, gum, stones, acorns, bottle caps, the note you passed me in class yesterday out of pants pocket) see?
I say we play tag and you're IT!
Run…..

Lol! I was in a meeting too long while your comment was hovering here and after I posted I noticed you removed the option I responded to so I have an orphaned response.

So let's do both.

Here I am. I got the chalks… more than one color… take your pick (i see you are now mornin' star now) so what color did you chose? I picked green and … lavender. (my third choice is deep red).

Someone already outlined part of it with deep dark medium blue … it's all around the far east side of the castle. The white stones are surrounding the blue …

I am still wearing my pink John Lennon hat … a “transition object” as I fly …

back and forth between this “magic” stuff with you and douglass … and my bedroom here cuz I'm not there but I'm here but I'm not here cuz I'm there … and I know my brother found my diary cuz he wrote in it with HIS handwriting about me and douglass K-I-S-S-I-N-G in the apple tree in our backyard! Oh my, I climb that tree all the time … but Douglass has never been in my backyard - or well, I don't think he has???

Has! So there, remember?
You remember that time when you were playing with…what was her name now? On your back porch with Barbie and Ken. I had my mack truck, the red one and I drove up making motor sounds with my tongue. You told me to grow up and play nice games, like the story you were telling about Barbie and how she met Ken in the coffee shop for the first time. You know the coffee shop right next to the barber shop with the candy cane thing that went around and around and the older men inside with cigars and girly magazines where I got my summer buzz cuts so my head wouldn't be so hot.
My older sister told me they were in love.
Do you think that's true?

So you guys I think we have stumbled upon a time machine and this one takes you to any period in any of your magical manifestations. Not only can you be happy as a clam you can be one again, slurping salt water in the primordial sea. Hey move closer will you? I don't want those barnacles slipping in between us. Clam hugs!
