I can hardly breath sometimes

I can hardly breath sometimes
in the middle of the night
those long conversations;
ones you'll never have
and yet someone must hear the words
your mouth never forms with all that breathlessness,
with the movement of tongue and lips.
No they are the ethereal sound
of the essence
not quite making it to the warm dark bed
sleepless dreams
waiting for the kiss of morning.

this is an astonishingly beautiful poem, even from you when the bar is set very high, my friend.

I am on an E.E. Cummings kick these days, do you know this random poem I found?

nothing false and possible is love
(who's imagined,therefore is limitless)
love's to giving as to keeping's give;
as yes is to if,love is to yes

must's a schoolroom in the month of may:
life's the deathboard where all now turns when
(love's a universe beyond obey
or command,reality or un-)

proudly depths above why's first because
(faith's last doubt and humbly heights below)
kneeling,we-true lovers-pray that us
will ourselves continue to outgrow

all whose mosts if you have known and i've
only we our least begin to guess

Keep em coming Nicole and Thank You!! Love these jewels you keep finding. Yes I have read this one before. If you were to see my journals from my art school years they are filled with ee cummings wannabe poems. I read his work so much it was bleeding out of my pores like eating too much garlic!
His work is still one of my very favorites because it jumps directly into your heart without your mind having a clue.

Sometimes in the treads of imagination, unknown moments are tapped - yet never within my grasp.  Loneliness takes a voice sometimes in the crowded world.  Even my own heart is not mine.  Never within my grasp.

Again…enjoy deeply your poems, Breathless Friend!

with love!

Perhaps it is our own heart which is the most difficult to win?
It wanders so through a peopleless world looking for something it can never find, because to find it would be to lose it. I think I'm in love with the emptiness itself, because it's what floods me so. Thank you Cheyene! Big loving hugs((())).

Yes!  I feel what you say!  I am in love with the emptiness too!….what has taken some time for me to relax with is that the heart, to me, is yearning (!)…that it somehow knows and believes in the impossible!  Nothing is impossible to the heart, it is the source of becoming.  And that feeling of 'becoming' feels like yearning to me….Oh!  It has taken tying myself down to the chair and not leaving it - not wishing to escape from it! - to allow it drown me in its truth!…AH!  yes, your words!..flood me!  Okay!..I scream, fine fine fine!  You totally win heart..I will never shut you up! (laughing!)…speak to me! (big smile!)

Thank you, Doug!  So beautiful!…Big big loving hugs back!

sincerely!..cheyenne

I notice that the emptiness can not be seen with indifferent eyes. Either you run like hell as fast as you can away into some distraction or another or you come closer and fall into the vacuum of it.
I think of the fox who is offered as gift to the eagle and it may appear one sided as if the eagle is a predator. But there is the eagles gift. For the very first time the fox knows what it is to sail.
Thank you again Cheyenne and please come scream and laugh and smile with me anytime you'd like. You're always welcome here, you little fox (Big Smile).
