Mexico Illuminating

Posted on Apr 14th, 2009 by Doug : Back Yard Artist Doug
I feel my second opening into the colors
that white silk again
the way that slips down
a slight hide from my eyes

illuminated
where my fingers explore
the pink, the tropical moist
that intoxication of soft sea life jungle
flower scent rising
a rising tide washing away
the wheels within the wheels within the wheels
turning over and over again
to face me
where all our worlds whirl into white hot stars

into the vast silent space beyond the veils

of breathing

Hi Amy, Hmmm K!
I'd think the Canadian one has more cuddles cuz you gotta get warm first, it's flannels I carelessly toss on the floor, OMG almost into the candle flame! I see feet tangled in the comforter.
You need some water? Lol!
Thank you Amy!
Hugs back((()))

Hope it's really warming up, up and over there in Ontario. Maybe I'll really write a poem, maybe call it Weather in Ontario?

How about I bring Mexico with me when I walk in the weather in Ontario?
Bet the spring flowers would come out, even through the snow. ;-)
TY! I'm feeling the stirrings of a new poem.

Yes Hummy. I just need to figure out the publishing part. The fact that I say “just” reveals my naivety. I've invited a friend to write it with me and the ideal is to have it flow like a conversation between two people. I've started to compile the poems and paintings and arrange those with my friends poems and photographs. So I play a dual role as both poet/painter and muse/model.
I can't wait to share it. I think it will be something very special.

great idea.  Doug, You are Mexico, warm and full of fun….so of course flowers will pop up everywhere at your entrance.
Smiles and hugs.

Sounds like a wonderful inspiring project, Doug - also that its a 'jamming process' (the way jazz musicians spontaneously co create - one playing a piece and another responding - I imagine birds could do something similar) with another

look forward to seeing what emerges
