Watercolor on canvas 30”X40”
Darling I’m moving more
Into the real
The wind moved me today
And did not blow right through me
I realized a leaf
My arms grew strong
I could sense the smell of you
Through all these bifurcations of me
The colors like pink and ocean aqua
I think maybe there are various forms
Various levels of being
This morning I woke up
And the world looked the same
Only it was more of the world
Then I could touch before
With just the dust
Of my memory
And so I use these hands
To gather dirt
And water
And I’m growing flowers
For you
Right out of my emptied head
And I look for you now
Because I want to perceive
You
seeing me
for the first time

“Only it was more of the worldThen I could touch before” Oh, how I love those lines! I'm up too late (again, lol), stopping by to see your new entry before I sign off for sleep. Yeah, I love those lines :) The painting is rich with evocative images, colors, suggestion of movement. You know I love the title, too!
TY soleil! Well you know it's inspired by the book we are both reading and yes the real is so wonderful and the way the flesh fits our ethereal being like a hand.
Sleep tight :-)
this is so rich and lovely, it would be a wonderful contribution to the new meeting love group if you felt like it… hugs
The lines which resonnated with me were “And so I use these hands To gather dirt And water And I’m growing flowers For you Right out of my emptied head” So often people interpret the concept of “reality as being an illusion” as disconnecting from it. I find, the more one “empties ones head” of judgments and preconceptions, the more beautiful the world becomes.
Nice work Doug, I find myself strangely drawn into this watercolor.
TY Nicole and yes I'd love to share this over in Hummy's new pod.
Hi Catherine and TY! Sometimes I think our culture has it all upside down, inside out where our judgments and preconceptions create the world from inside the head out and we see what we believe rather then allowing our bodies and our awareness to manifest out of the very living soil that we walk upon.
TY Lars!
good stuff, Doug! perfect! Hope its going into the book you're publishing
love
Wow, beautiful, looks like an image of the pysche moving into it's next level of expression.
Amazing! The Real Deal indeed my friend, completely. Love it, Love those flowers, love you.
This reminds me of my bedroom when I was growing up… a trail from the bed to the closet, the closet to the dresser, the dresser to the tie dyed sheet hung between 'my side' of the room and my youngest sister's. She had trails too.
I want to climb up the blue ladder into the closet full of dreams. A perfect hidey hole for adults finding their way into the un/real.
had to bookmark this one, so I can read it over and over again. Wow, I am impressed the beauty of this writing and painting.
Blessed Be!
Hi Hummy and TY! Yes the book of dreams! And yes it does fit and the writing for the book could just go on and on and on.
Thank you Jeannie! Yes like though public service announcements where they fry an egg and say “This is your brain on poetry!” ;-)
Ah Shanti TY! I love you too :-)
Pearly I must have been channeling your girly bedroom! TY darling!
TY Claudia! Wow speaking of bifurcation I was seeing two of you recently and I felt a connection with your twin and then I realized it was you with a different Gaia ID. Anyway I'm pleased that the Gaia wiz kids recovered your original profile!
And the world looked the same
Only it was more of the world
Then I could touch before
With just the dust
Of my memory
your world never looks the same when I come to visit.. so many facets in your poetry & art, it is truly a delight to linger & reflect. I love love this painting.
“I touch the earth the earth touches me” and those are the words that came to mind when I saw your comment Tara. And your voluptuous touch is corporeal, animal, real.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for that this morning Tara, it's perfect.
Big Hugs((()))
