TheStoryTeller (ka ta see) :   Another piece in the Big Sur series this one exploring the shifting perception from language and ordinary reality to a kind of warp into a place of understanding somehow outside of the confines of time and space yet lacking the means to explain anything. The natural world, maybe especially in a magical place like Big Sur, serves as a bridge into that love, that place of knowing. I offer myself, my art as that bridge also and you my friend are the storyteller or rather that you within you that feels ageless and far beyond the confines of your skin. Do you remember the day Pele gave birth to Santa Lucia?

BigSurNightAphrodite :   It was Tuesday night, restless I walked through the dark redwoods using only the existing light of a half moon through the dark trees to navigate, by passed the gray-green river and over a bridge. And then it got really dark and then a sign that I could read by flashlight."Mountain lions are a natural creature in this environment and are particularly attracted to children. Keep children close and make noise." And so I walked on continuing up the mountain side every now and then stopping to turn off my flashlight to look around at this totally other world. I felt I was part of it, like I belonged and even if a mountain lion found me it would be OK, Through a narrow path through a tunnel of dark low tress I arrived at the top of the mountain, like I was king of the mountain for those moments while I rested on a rock over looking the valley below with the electric lights of civilization far below me and where I was, moon light only. I'm not sure I have left there yet. I still feel the cool moonlight, smell the sea, feel the whirlpools and jetties where the sea caves in on itself in an emerald foam. I wanted to kiss her and I couldn't quite reach.
